Photographing Queen + Adam Lambert live at Sky Stadium in Wellington was an unforgettable experience and a true career highlight. Being asked to capture the show on behalf of the stadium was a huge honour—especially knowing how many legendary acts have graced that stage.

The atmosphere was electric from the moment the first note rang out. With over 30,000 fans packed in, the energy was next-level. The band delivered a high-impact set filled with Queen’s greatest hits—think “Bohemian Rhapsody,” “We Will Rock You,” and “Another One Bites the Dust”—all brought to life by Adam Lambert’s powerhouse vocals and theatrical stage presence.

From a photographer’s perspective, it was a dream to shoot: dramatic lighting, epic staging, and three performers who know exactly how to play to a crowd. Every frame was about capturing not just the music, but the emotion and spectacle of it all—Brian May shredding under a spotlight, Roger Taylor commanding the kit, and Lambert working the stage with flair and confidence.

One of the proudest moments came after the show, when one of my images from the night was selected to be printed on a massive scale in the Members Lounge at Sky Stadium. If you’ve ever been through there, you might just recognise it.

Being part of this event was more than just a job—it was a privilege. Queen’s music has left an indelible mark on generations, and getting to document that legacy in Wellington was a moment I won’t forget.
