It was a stellar Opening Night for Wellington Fashion Week as high-end fashion label,Moochi, showcased 17 pieces of their 2014 Winter Collection.

Moochi wanted us to capture their showcase to be shown in their stores across New Zealand to coincide with the winter collection launch.

Moochi’s collection was a mix of soft and feminine textures with that sharp edge to give it that ground-breaking but elegant winter’s touch. There was also a trendy mix of brown, leopard prints, stripes and the odd leather collar.

Moochi’s 2014 Winter Collection took ‘black’ to a whole new level on the runway with a sophisticated blend of black velvet stripes, sheer material and leather. Moochi’s 2014 Winter Collection was underpinned by the subtle but eye-pleasing oriental touches on a few of the garments on show. With oriental pleating, very loose Japanese style-draping and a rich oriental green, some of Moochi’s key collection pieces were well executed with a subtle oriental influence.

The gold detailing to break up the black was on point and the touch of orange up against the stripes was a clever and creative twist on Moochi’s winter garments. A bit of orange is never too bad on a gloomy day!

Tonight, Moochi’s 2014 Winter Collection provided us with exactly how black should be perfected. Not everyone can pull of black but it was worn to perfection through fine detailing and flawless fabric. An amazing way to begin the Wellington Fashion Week festivities!
