Sabatini set a dark and elegant tone on the runway with a strong hair style look from Sebastian Professional. Leather accents on coats and leggings, distressed tweed, ribbed sleeves and khaki leather were distinctive features of the collection. Looks were elegantly styled and models wearing wide-brimmed hats imbued a sense of intrigue into the feature.

The label’s first catwalk show was a true embodiment of the collections’ Runaway Circus theme. A ringmaster twirling a hula-hoop was first out on the catwalk and models were styled to the theme, emerging with cat ears and embellished fingerless-leather gloves. Sequined shorts, white shirts with sequin sleeves, burgundy accents and the cleverly designed patterns were highlights of the show. The models were sporting a soft-look hairstyle created by Sebastian Professional.

STORM added edge to the showcase with their use of leather, faux fur and metallics on the Wellington Fashion Week runway. Quilted leather was cleverly layered and mixed with faux fur garments, reflecting the darker mood of the collection.

twoWORLDs showed Wellington Fashion Week classic tailoring and clean lines and colour blocking interposed with interesting patterns. The colours used by the designer were vibrant, and patterns were cleanly integrated into the collection. Ruffled shirts were classically styled with peplum jackets and tailored trousers and an array of boldly coloured silk jumpsuits brought the collection together.

Taylor models walked the runway in compelling monochromatic looks, sporting a strong hair look from Sebastian Professional. The black and white focus of the collection highlighted the different textures, lengths and forms used in the collection. Taylor experimented with shapes of coats and jackets this season. Coats were deconstructed and uniquely reassembled to great effect.

Second up in the AW’13 Group Collections Showcase, MOOCHI surprised the crowd with a limited edition capsule collection, which will be available in store from April 13. Trelise Cooper started the AW’13 designer showcase at Wellington Fashion Week this year with this seasons’ vibrant collection featuring florals, checks, metallics and eye-catching detailing. The collection was elaborately styled with patterned tights layered under floral pieces and checkered coats. WORLD’s first showing at Wellington Fashion Week was a culmination of 22 years within the industry. A plethora of fashionable Wellingtonians showed up to the sellout Autumn Winter 2013 BORING GETS YOU NOWHERE catwalk show which opened to Britney Spears’ “Drive Me Crazy”.
