Tying the knot is one of the biggest days of your life. When it comes to planning, it’s up there as one of the biggest things you’ll ever plan!
So when it comes time for the formalities of a marriage certificate – most just assume it has to be one member from either side of your bridal party that witness it. WRONG!
It can be anyone that, who guessed it, witnessed the wedding! So think about giving the role to someone that doesn’t already have a big part in the day, or someone that you want to feel a bit more included. Both mums is always a great idea, I’ve even recently seen this happen where the couple didn’t ask/tell their mothers they were going to be the witnesses. The looks on their faces when they were asked to come up and sign witness to the marriage was a beautiful moment. I’ve also seen grandparents (pictured above) and children from previous relationships!
So get creative, don’t feel like you have to use your bridal party members to witness it, after all they have lots of other involvement on the big day! However they are two of your favourite people in the world, so chances are you’d still want them to witness it anyway!
