Nokia has just let me know that I’ll have a new Nokia 1020 in my hands today to borrow for the month. Mega excited to see what this 41mp smartphone can do! Nokia has certainly put the smarts into this smartphone, but what a little company from Sweden has done is put some smarts into a camera.
The Q Camera is taking the world by storm, and for great reason! This little camera might look like My First Preschool’s version of a digital camera, but this pop-arty camera punches high for it’s weight.
This little beast is waterproof (up to 1m), has an LED Ring Flash, Built in instagram-like filters, a separate shutter button to shoot without flash & another with, but the biggest thing… The Q Camera is a social camera. Every photo shot is instantly sent to the online Q Lab via a 3G sim card. There’s no manually uploading to social networks, there’s not even a way to download them with a USB cable.
Once in the Q Lab you can apply up to nine filters (which I’m sure will increase eventually). The thing I like best, is that you can set it up to randomly choose a filter and automagically upload to twitter & facebook. Press the shutter button and pretty much instantly your holga-like image is slammed into the social network stratosphere.
I’ve just pre-ordered a Peppermint flavour “for my wife” (which if it’s anything like the other cameras I’ve bought her, will instantly become a joint toy – sorry Emma x)
Let me know in the comments below which colour you’d choose?
